Ruth qualified as a Graphic Designer at Leeds Metropolitan University, specialising in illustration, in 1986. She then gained a teaching qualification at Manchester University.

Since then she has spent time as an Art teacher working in high schools, Garth Prison; Runshaw, Skelmersdale and Bootle Tertiary Colleges and more recently Royal Preston Hospital.
She has always enjoyed doing commissioned artwork and working towards her own private exhibitions.

Ruth now runs the successful art studio, ‘The Wickerfish’, where she teaches adults to paint and draw and runs workshops for children.

Even though Ruth paints in a variety of media, she specialises in watercolour. Ruth uses her studio to display her own work, as well as using it as a classroom.
